I've been working on making some big changes to our living room. You may remember that Captain Project really wanted his zero gravity chair in the room which was fine except it's very modern in design and doesn't go at all with the rest of the furniture.
Of course, I could've just lived with it but instead, took this as the perfect opportunity to change up just about everything! It's a work in progress but here's what I can show you today...
New, retro-inspired chairs from Urban Outfitters. You can't really tell from my pictures but they're a blue-ish grey with four buttons tufted on the backs of them:
In between the chairs is the side table/magazine rack, also from UO:
I stitched up these oval back pillows for the chairs. You know my love of pompoms!
I made slip covers for the vintage ottomans I found at the flea market. Originally, I was planning on reupholstering them but decided to just slip cover them instead ~ easier to change out (yes, I'm very fickle!). This was my first time making cording and it was surprisingly simple. In case you're wondering, after looking at the first pix above, yes, I purposefully made them a little different from each other ~ I'm not big into too much matchy-matchy.
I'm having fun re-doing the living room! As soon as we get our new, vintage 1950's entertainment console in place of our old one (trying to sell the behemoth!), I'll post again about my progress.
