Look who Twyla and I encountered on our morning walk yesterday!
Lucy the Llama on the farm next to ours. I couldn't see any dangling parts so I'm assuming it's a girl ~ ha!
She's huge! And seemed friendly, despite Twyla's incessant barking. She stood there patiently so that I could snap a couple pictures of her.
The long walk around our farm tuckers poor Twyla right out!
So while she sleeps I'm busy upcycling these pretty kitchen towels into aprons. I found these at Tuesday Morning for next to nothing...
...and these at Anthropoligie a few years ago. Thought I'd turn them into pillows but never did.
I'm having fun creating Retro Revival aprons from these pretties!

Lucy is a cute neighbor to have! Love the new aprons, that's a perfect way to use the towels. We've cute up some of our linens for making little birdies and filling them with pennies for pattern weights.
Hello Cindy,
Ah, I love Llamas and Alpacas. I believe that she will make a great neighbor; well she can’t talk back or disagree with you about the property line. Love your new kitchen towels soon to be aprons. Thanks for sharing
Smiles, Paula
You know I just love it that you have a dog named Twyla! Your kitchen towels are so pretty, they'll make lovely aprons! Have a nice day! Twyla
Cindy those creations are so darling. I am itching to stitch. It is very necessary to tucker our beloved 4 legged friends first before I sew though or they will be under foot and in my peddles...Sweet Twyla just wanted to protect you. Enjoy your day...smiles....Renee
Those aprons are so cute!
Hi Cindy,
Thanks for stopping by and for your sweet words. Your aprons are beautiful and it's so neat that you used kitchen towels to make them. You mention two of my favorite places to go when I've got spare time........ha, ha, ha.
Take care,
Meri
Oh, I LOVE the aprons from the towels!!!! Those are so cute!!! And I love llamas!!!!!!! Great photos! The last time I was that close to one (actually, it was an alpaca, not a llama, but anyway...) I got spat on. HA!
No danglies! That's just too funny!
I adore your aprons...and repurposing vintage tea towels is genius! Making myself an apron is also on my sewing todo list.......one of these days!
Have a great day!
Ciao Bella!

I love the tea towels you have collected, Cindy. So pretty and each so unique. Pillows are a fun idea. They would be charming in a breakfast nook. I have seen vintage hankies framed, and that made me think why not linen tea towels. A few could be framed and hung in the kitchen or breakfast nook. I love your aprons. They are so nice with the color and pattern combinations you choose. Fun stuff!
Lamas are so curious aren't they, and cute! Love the aprons you made, so cute!!! I have only made baby bibs and little aprons for the grands. I just love what you make! ;D
What wonderful tea towels----will make darling one of a kind aprons. I guess I better get to Tuesday Morning, I forget about that store.
What darling tea towels, they will make such cute one of a kind aprons. Guess I better make a trip to Tuesday Morning, I forget to go there.
You did a pretty job creating these lovely aprons from tea towels. I never would have thought of it.
Oh those tea towels are fabulous, and the aprons, well what can I say, I looooove them. :) I will turn some I have found into tote bags
Cindy I just love your aprons. I have not repurposed old towel into aprons but you have given me a great idea.

These aprons are so cute...just FYI...if you are standing near a llama and they start to rear back their heads, get out of the way....they spit this Gosh awful stuff from their stomachs!!!! I saw this happen and missed being the target. I have been around horses all my life, and when a horse lays back it's ears you had better move...I just couldn't get used to the llama doing that, and it not meaning trouble....his name was Tony Llama and I never did get up close and friendly wit him! LOL :):) Sandy
Lucky Lucy...she should get an apron for being a lovely model....or shower cap - lol...on the floor thinking of how cute & funny that one would be :)
Love your towel/aprons - you never cease to amaze us with your creative ways! I have a small stash of pillows...and of some dish towels that aren't fit to be dish towels yet (but the embroidery is still good), so...no, I haven't made anything creative YET....!!
It will come to me sometime :) Have a great weekend Cindy!!
Hi Cindy,
I love your blog! I have become your newest follower.
I love your aprons....and tee towels.
I bought two blue and white tea cup tea towels while vacationing in Canada. I had planed to make pillows out of them, but of course I have not done so yet :) LOL
One day I will. I look forward to visiting you again.
Have a sweet day, Elizabeth
How fun to have a lama next door! Yea... only country girls look for the dingle berries :) lol
