Our Not Quite Right Christmas Card

So Christmastime is a bit insane right?  All the hustle and bustle, shopping, wrapping, travel, visiting with family, the parties, baking, decorating, etc., etc.  Crazy how we cram all of this into one month!  Reminds me of a Maxine Christmas card I once read where she asks why we put a dead tree in our living room and eat candy from our socks ~ ha!

Laughing through all this craziness is an absolute must for me, which is why, although I like beautifully written Christmas cards espousing peace, joy and goodwill to all, my favorite cards are funny ones with family pictures.

Here are a few of ours from years past:

For our card this year, I imagined a sweet kitchen scene.  Something like this:

Nah.  We decided it was too much like last year's.  So we shot some more...

Eh.  They were fine, but not really funny.  Then I suggested this (I triple dare you not to laugh!):

Um, OK, probably over the line.

So how about this?!

Yep, this is our card.  It's not quite right, a bit twisted, but I love it.  The sentiment reads, "Cheers to you and yours this Christmas season!"

We never tire of amusing ourselves.

For me, Christmastime isn't so much about the decorations, fattening foods or crazy traditions, but about giving.  And joy.  Hopefully I've made you smile and spread a little joy with this post.

So how to you manage the craziness of Christmas time?  Do tell and I'll enter your name into the drawing for this month's blog giveaway ~ this basket full of goodies:

I'll randomly draw a winner on December 31st from all of your December comments ~ good luck!

Oh my stars! You guys are too fun!

Well, it doesn't seem to matter how hard I try to de-stress the holidays, I always collapse in January! I just gird up my lions and march forward! But I also know that I won't do everything that I want to do and I forgive myself! That helps!

That looks like a sweet give away! What all DO you have in thee? :)

You brought more than a smile. I was laughing out loud. Just as I was admiring all the aprons you wore, you jump out at me with a knife?!!! LOL!! So funny, but I'm sure not everyone has my sense of humor. Your final choice is just right. The sentiment makes it perfect. Thanks for sending your holiday cheer out to me. I'll be shaking my head and smiling all day.

I loved every one of these..you two are fun and so cute! How I manage...SIMPLIFY...no ornaments on the tree this year and we are loving it, it looks like a real tree come to visit with lights! And I have not spent a bunch of money this year either on our kids and grands..simplify and just spread the love instead. Even my cooking..not doing the 20 bundt cakes for all the neighbors this year..not! Christmas this year seems so much calmer and peaceful...after all, the spirit of Christmas is...Christ. LOVE love love this give a way! :D

I love your pictures! They are great. I haven't gotten in the mood this year for our pictures, so I'm just doing plain jane cards. Have a merry Christmas!
