Today is my sister's birthday. To say that Pamela is dear to me is a colassal understatement. It's funny, because when we were little (I'm older by 2 years) we fought like cats and dogs, but by the time we reached our late teen years, we had grown close. Like many siblings (and I am close to my brother too), we are tight, and I feel very fortunate and blessed to have such an exceptional sister!

The most beautiful people we have known are those who have known defeat, known suffering, known struggle, known loss, and have found their way out of those depths. These persons have an appreciation, a sensitivity, and an understanding of life that fills them with compassion, gentlness, and a deep loving cercern. Beautiful people do not just happen.

Pamela is the definition of resiliance. She's been through a ridiculous amount of heartache and strife over the past several years yet she remains incredibly kind, loving, cheerful and generous. Hardly a day goes by that we don't speak (sadly, she lives in California, far away from me) and I hang up feeling hopeful and heartfilled. I love her with every ounce, fiber and molecule of my being.
I am giddy with excitement that she's flying out for my daughter's wedding next week, especially since our last two visits (me flying to CA) were sober and mournful as we dealt with our mother's illness and death. Knowing that in just a few short days we'll be together to celebrate such a joyous occassion practically brings me to tears (happy tears!) as I type this. Eke ~ I can hardly wait!

Happy birthday, Pam! Thank you for all that you are. I could not possibly ask for a better, more beautiful, more perfect sister than you!

My love and appreciation also goes out to all of our veterans ~ happy Veteran's Day!
I am greatful for all of your sacrifices and those of your family and other loved ones. Godspeed!

Weddings are the best!! My daughter's wedding a few years ago one of the best days... a wonderful celebration! And a visit from your sister??? What more good a girl ask for?
The apron is darling, I'd love to be included in the give away.
