Prolific Apron Week PLUS August Blog Giveaway

Scroll down near the end of this post to see my August FUN, FREE, BLOG GIVEAWAY!
My postman brought me great news this week!  Retro Revival has been accepted into two fall craft fairs!  The first is the 36th Annual McIntosh 1890's Festival, October 23-24th (
(Scene from 2009 McIntosh fair)
And the second is the 36th Annual Micanopy Fall Harvest Festival, October 30-31st (
(Main Street in Micanopy, Florida)
I am beyond excited about these opportunities since they'll be my first "official" shows (the others I've partcipated in had crafts only as a secondary offering to other activities).  October seems so far off except that my goals is to take to each show 50 shower caps, 200 aprons, 50 pot holders, 50 oven mitts and a few cake/dessert plates (a new project I need to get busy making)!  My daily goal is to sew at least four items each day.  Some days I hit my goal, others, well, not so much -- ha!
Happily, this last week was a productive one.  Remembering the many requests I had at my last show for cupcake-themed aprons I've stichted up 12 so far; here are a few of them:
("Cupcake Celebration")
("Cupcake Party")
("1940's Cupcake Celebration")
("Cupcake Treat")
("Cupcake Celebration #2")
("Cupcake Sweet Thing")
("Chocolate Cupcake")
I had so much fun using lots of colorful coordinating fabrics, ruffles, ric rac and even pom poms on these!
In celebration of cupcakes and to welcome August, look what I found for this month's giveaway:
...A great book all about cupcakes!  This hardcover is filled with tempting photos:
To enter this givaway you need to visit my website ( and browse my cupcake aprons. Come back here and leave a comment about your favorite Retro Revival cupcake apron.  This gives you one entry into the giveaway.
For an extra 5 entries into the drawing, leave a comment containing your favorite cupcake recipe.
For an extra 10 entries into this drawing, create a blog post about this giveaway, leaving your permalink in your comment (be sure to mention this in your entry so I'll know about it).
I'll draw the winner on August 31st.  Good luck!
Now that I've (temporarily) satisfied my sweet tooth, I've moved on to a garden theme.  Time to use some of my floral fabrics; I'll keep you posted with my results.

Congrats on getting into the craft shows! Shall we send you band-aids for your blistered sewing fingers? LOL Love the cupcake designs! This past weekend we did a part of the 500-mile yard sale and I thought about you every time I saw vintage materials. If I ever come across any at the right price I'll scoop um up for ya!
