Isn't Amy gorgeous?!  I am always so thrilled when my customers are so happy that they share pictures with me!

She's modeling her recently purchased Retro Revival "Barbie" Shower Cap.  What a bombshell!

Bouquet Beauty

When I made my first Retro Revival Bouquet Beauty shower cap a few months ago (prior post here), it was really a lark ~ blending my love of flowers with the practicality of a quality made shower cap.

I really didn't expect to sell it.  But it did!  And now, several months later, they keep selling, two this week, in fact!

Hand-sewing a virtual field of flowers makes me smile.

The fun photo editor on my new iPhone is making me happy too.  Pretty, right?

Hope you find lots to smile about today!

Occoquan Craft Show Results

We had a wonderful time at the Occoquan Fall Arts & Crafts Fair over the weekend.  We kept my booth setup unchanged and the pink Frigidaire and pink stove drew lots of people in to check out my Retro Revival products.

We sold a good number of shower caps and pot mitts, and a few sleep masks and insulated travel flat iron cases, but as is normal for our shows, the biggest hit was my aprons.  This was my 13th show and I'm still tickled to see the smiling faces of my customers, and I'm always delighted when they so willingly pose for pictures!

I've designed my aprons to fit most, ladies sized 2 -22.  My customers are all sizes and shapes and ages too, but most of my customers at this show were between 24 and 32.  I love that so many younger women are into aprons!

My favorite picture of the weekend:

Doing these shows really is exhausting.  The loading, unloading and packing up, and standing on your feet all day.  But it's totally worth it because nothing beats interacting with the happiest people ~ apron lovers!

Purse & Shoe Obssession

I love shoes and purses.

Really, really love them!

My favorite purse is this chartreuse number Daughterlypoo gave me for my birthday last year!

All of which leads me to this...

I had to, just had to buy this shoe and purse fabric when I saw it!  Perfect for my Retro Revival shower cap I've aptly named, "Obsession."

This beauty and over 60 other shower cap choices are available in my Etsy shop now.

Bouquet Beauty Creation

Another Retro Revival "Bouquet Beauty" in progress.

A little field of lavender hued flowers meant to adorn a pretty head.

Remember the last one I showed you?

When I first created this (prior post here), I really did it for the whimsy of it.  Never did I imagine it would sell!  But it did.  Two months on, and I've sold several of them (available in my Etsy shop).

How could you not smile wearing one of these?!

Making them is a true labor of love.  I painstakingly sew each flower (this lavender one has over 70 flowers on it!) on to the cap.  Totally worth it, though, especially when I hear from my happy customers.

Ellen shared a picture of herself in her Pink "Bouquet Beauty," and said, "FABULOUS!  It feels good on and every girl out there will look pretty as can be while wearing this.  It has a nice balance and no, it isn't heavy at all.  I will be wearing it while swimming in my pool!  Because I am just that glamorous. Glamour and quality cost money. This is well worth it.  In fact, I am ordering a spare.  Yes, it's that good.  My friends need to be glamorous too when they visit. You are never too old to play and have fun."

I got such a kick out of her saying, "Because I am just that glamorous."  What a hoot!  And I couldn't agree more!

Vintage Head Vase for Hair Tools

As I was using the flat iron to straighten my hair the other day, I looked down on the bathroom counter and thought, "Eew!"  Why was I storing my big hair clips, teasing comb, etc. in an old, ugly plastic cup?!

When I finished my hair, I did a quick walk-through of the house, searching for the perfect receptacle and settled on my vintage head vase.

SO much better!

I love it when I find new uses for my vintage treasures!  (That's my mother's old train case with a stash of my other hair things.)

Any "new" discoveries in your home lately?
