I am grateful beyond measure that my son David returned home safely from Iraq Saturday morning! After serving for a year over there, and before that, two, back-to-back deployments to Korea, he's back in the good, ole USA! I'm an incredibly proud mama, and grateful for all of the sacrifices our men and women, and their families, make for us every day!
I drove over to Ft. Stewart (near Savannah and where he is stationed for the next several months) for his welcome home ceremony and it was AWESOME! Very emotional and joyful, I either had a giant lump in my throat or was bawling (happy tears) the entire time!
About 200 soldiers from the 3rd ID came home and there were probably about 1,000 of us there to welcome them home, along with an Army band (playing patriotic music, of course).
Having Davey safely back from war is THE most wonderful, early Christmas present EVER!
Please remember to leave a comment on my December 9th blog post for a chance to win this month's giveaway!
