About five years ago, EllynAnne Geisel, Apron Expert, collector, speaker and author, launched National Tie One On Day as a way to put the "give" back into Thanksgiving. The tradition suggests wrapping a baked goodie in an apron with a note of encouragement and gifting it to a neighbor experiencing a rough patch.
A little birdie told me about a woman in my community who's really struggling with her wayward son so I baked this banana bread (yeah, it's from a box but it's GOOD):
...Wrapped it in this apron I made:
...And tucked in a personal note. I'm excited about delivering it to her next Tuesday.
National Tie One On Day is really spreading. I've caught it and hope you will too!
