It all began with my iron. My poor, oft used, cruddy iron, its plate caked with spray starch and gooey bits of interfacing.

I was chatting with a friend (oh our scintillating topics of conversation!) and she suggested I use a dryer sheet to clean my iron. What?!
Simply turn on your iron and rub the dryer sheet over the plate. Use a clothespin or kitchen tongs so that you don't burn your fingers.
Worked like a charm. And bonus ~ I used lavender scented sheets and the process doubled as room freshener.
After this dryer sheet miracle I immediately wondered if it'd help my stove. My stove is worse than my iron. I'll try not to swear as I describe it...
- First, it's electric (boo!)
- Everything, and I mean everything sticks to it
- It's nearly impossible to clean (even using those expensive ceramic cleaners)
The before:
After gently rubbing a dryer sheet over the surface (set on low heat):
OMGosh! Dryer sheet miracle two!
Yes, I realize it's not normal to get so excited over such things. It's OK if you scoff at me:)
Next, I did a Google search for other clever uses for dryer sheets. There are a ton out there in Blogville!
I read online that moistened dryer sheets work really well for cleaning bugs off of cars.
The before:
Walah! A little bit of gentle rubbing and the bugs and crud disappeared.
Alright, I'm finished carrying on about dryer sheets. I've got some laundry to do, and ironically, I won't be using dryer sheets ~ ha! I prefer liquid softener.
Brilliant, I am glad you shared that with us.
