One of my dear apron customers contacted me over the weekend, asking if I could make her four hanging kitchen towels. Had to tell her that I've never made them before but would be willing to give them a try.
I started by searching the Web for a pattern and only found one, but it's a great one! Mara from Kleiosbelly posted an excellent tutorial about making hanging kitchen towels with fabric tabs. AND, she's happy for all of us to share her tutorial ~ thank you Mara!
My results:
(The colors are a bit off on my monitor but in person, the polka dot tabs coordinate beautifully with the stripes)
Have you made anything new lately? Hope you have a creative day!

I can't help but think what a nice kitchen curtain that would make. By the way, my daughter asked me the other day why we don't wear aprons when we cook. I immediately thought of you.
ReplyDeleteI thought it was a kitchen curtain when I saw the picture on Facebook! Then I read the caption.
ReplyDeleteThese are too stinkin cute!
Growing up, my family was heavily involved in church. My mother was head of a craft group within the church. I remember the ladies making hanging towels in our living room. Thanks for sharing and letting me re-hash that memory! :)
ReplyDeleteI made one of my Christmas projects and will be posting pics tomorrow!

Hi Cindy,
ReplyDeleteI love these!!! they look like little dresses to me. I remember my Mom and Grandma having these. I printed the pattern, thank you so much. I think these sweet dish towels are going to become a few gifts this year.
Have a sweet day, Elizabeth
How cute! I love that you can change the look of these old fashioned kitchen towels with great fabric. I made some recently using potholders and towels that turned out pretty cute.
ReplyDeleteI love these! My towels are always falling on the floor! I might make some for my stepmom for Christmas!
ReplyDeleteHi Cindy, I buy these at the local markets and use them in the bathroom to dry your hands. I love that they don't go anywhere and you can color coordinate... I reckon this might be a new line for you :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment on my blog too.

Perfectly adorable! I think she will love them!
ReplyDeleteEverything old is new again, i guess that is why we all love vintage so much. Actually you towels are a lot cuter than the old ones of the 50's.
