Attack of the Tulle {Wedding Dress Shopping}

As I mentioned in a previous post, my daugther's getting married in November.  I traveled to Atlanta last weekend to help Natalie shop for her dress.  It was a frenzy of tulle, satin and lace and so much fun!

I have to share the highlights with you!  Heading into the shop:

(Nina, the Maid of Honor; Natalie; Amanda; Leigh)

In the dressing room

She tried lots of styles

The wedding colors are black and white so of course, we had to pull a dress that would coordinate

A mermaid style

I insisted she try a really big dress

Attack of the tulle!

Dramatic back

Pretty little ruffles

Eat your heart out, Kate!  Princess knockoff (we were trying to strike a regal pose)

Keeping with the royal theme, Natalie had us wear facinators

We practiced aisle walking

2.5 hours and 15+ dresses later.  The decision!  Yep, we all got teary.  Happy tears!

Of course, I can't publish pix of her choice but here's a hint

Now she has to patiently wait until the first week of November when her size will arrive and she can have it altered.  In the meantime, she's also waiting a couple of weeks for her NYC dress to arrive.  What's the NYC dress you ask?  Long story short...originally, the kids planned on eloping to NYC but we (yeah, mostly moi!) talked them into a ceremony and celebration in Atlanta so that family and friends can partake.  So, on November 11th they'll marry in NYC (one of Daniel's brothers will perform the ceremony) and on November 18th in Atlanta, there will be a repeat performance and reception.

For the NYC ceremony, Jennie from AliceAndClara is making Natalie's dress based on this inspiration:

This is the sketch Jennie sent to us with the muslin dress the other day:

Jennie's soooo talented.  Remember the dress she made me back in February (click here to read about it)?

That's it from "wedding central."  For now ~ I'll post another update soon!

I love reading your comments so please share your thoughts!  I'll randomly draw a winner from all of my August post comments for this month's giveaway ~ a $20 gift certificate to spend in Patti Ballard's Etsy shop.  Good luck!

Hi Cindy,

Wow, she looked magical in pretty much everything she tried on! Can't wait to see which one was chosen......you can't go wrong with Vera Wang. It's been a year and a half since I went through this with my daughter....enjoy the process.

Hugs,
Meri

Looks like you all had so much fun! You always look so cute! Do you always wear a dress? They are all so adorable each time I see a pic of you!
Choosing a dress for a wedding is unforgettable! When my daughter got married last year she eventually chose the first one she tried on! Nothing like a gorgeous bride!
