My sweet daughter and I spent a few days at the beach last week, an annual mother-daughter tradition (just us girls) that after 10+ years still thrills me beyond words. Ahhhh, a thoroughly relaxing time with Natalie when we swim and sun away the rest of the world and catch up on all matters serious and frivolous ~ a perfect five days!
We stayed at the Don CeSar, a sprawling, historical hotel, on the shores of St. Petersburg Beach.
It rained the first three days of our stay, so we explored "old town" St. Pete and wandered through lots of unique shops and found a few goodies...
...sipped a few cocktails
...and scarfed down many delicious meals
Once the sun finally burst out we took advantage of the light and snapped some pictures of my newest Retro Revival product ~ Swim Wraps!
Originally designed for a custom request order, I've been selling these by word-of-mouth for about a year. Now that I've had the chance to take some glam pix of the perfect model, I'm ready to sell them in earnest and will soon have them posted on my website and Etsy shop.
I've made them with a waterproof lining and cotton exterior...
...and added a bit of elastic along the backside to accommodate even the longest, thickest, curliest hair.
Inspired by Rosie the Riveter, I think they're perfect for keeping your hair dry as you wade into the pool or ocean ~ you know, how when you try to do this and keep the nape of your neck and hair dry and it always gets wet? Problem solved, and glamorous to boot!
Hope you all had a great week too.

Wow Cindy!
ReplyDeleteWhat a delight this tour ... as I am from a tropical country, I love summer, sun, sea, fruit juices ...
Here we are entering the winter and I do not particularly like the cold, so I'm "jealous" of your summer ... smiles
If you like the beach, would love Brazil!
And these bags, which have good in them, I'm curious to see their new acquisitions ... if you can show us.
Anyway friend, have fun and enjoy your summer too.
Many blessings and a hug.

Aw! Mother daughter trips! I thank God for the few girl hood ones I shared with my mom at the beach! Mom would paint landscapes and listen to classical music and I'd roam the beach looking for boys! ;) We would beach in Washington state though so there wasn't always sun to be had. :(
ReplyDeleteThese hair wraps are super cute, Cindy and your model is perfect!! ♥
There is nothing better than mother/daughter oughtings! I get to see my mom on Saturday.
ReplyDeleteI love your perfect model's freckles! Adorable!
ReplyDeleteI could have used one of your swim wraps on our family vacation!

Those are fabulous! That original customer must have been a genius to think up such an idea. ;-)
ReplyDeleteThe Don CeSar looks like a great place for a fun girls weekend. I must get myself over to St. Pete Beach and check it out the next time I'm in FL...next week! I'll take my fabulous swim wrap along with me. Thanks again!
I love the pics! The hotel looks beautiful, as does Natalie! I'm glad you had a great time together!

Looks like you enjoyed your time together and I'm loving the new things!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the hair wrap! It would be perfect for in the hot tub. I try to put my hair up, but the nape of my neck still gets wet, or the tail of the ponytail. But who wants to wear a shower cap in the hot tub? LOL. I'd love to sew my own, since I have PUL fabric in my stash already...
ReplyDeleteLooks like y'all had a wonderful time. I had a great aunt that used to live in St. Petersburg. Love the wraps.

Ahhhhh, what a special tradition a annual mother-daughter getaway. Girl time is just the Best. ;o) I love the Don CeSar it is so luxurious. Did you happen to have dinner at Bern’s Steakhouse, it is such cool place. Your new swim wraps look amazing, putting rosie to shame. ;o) Smiles, Paula
ReplyDeleteThose wraps are darling! I use regular ol' bandana's to get my hair out of my face!
ReplyDeleteI peeped your Etsy shop and I LOVE the shower caps!!! I've owned a couple of shower caps in my day and have never ran across any that were that cute!

I LOVE this look and will have to check you out on this! Humbling to admit - I have some top of the head hair loss that is my bane and headbands with clever hair configurations seem to deflect the shortcoming. Wonder how these would help achieve the purpose with some retro flair . . .
ReplyDeleteJoy!
