Ugh Muh Guh, I Got a New Cam er Ah!

Remember me pleading with Santa to bring me a new camera for Christmas?  Well, he delivered!

It's taken me a few weeks to overcome my trigger shyness, but can you blame me?  My Cannon Rebel came with five, yes FIVE booklets and three CDs!  As a novice, I'm finding it intimidating for sure, but I'm determined to become a better photographer this year.

I was giddy as I uploaded these to my computer ~ so crisp and clear.  And look at the bee's wings!

In addition to learning how to operate this thing, I'm reading everything I can find about better blogging pictures.

Do you have any tips?  Share yours here and you're automatically entered to win this month's blog giveaway:

Drawing is January 31st ~ good luck!

Congratulations on the new camera! I'm so intimidated by gadgets AND instruction books. My advice would be to do what I did when I got my new Pentax a couple of years ago; take a photography class. :)

I got a small camera for Christmas and am still trying to figure it out too! I think my husband knows a fancy camera would be wasted on me because I never learn how to do all the "extra" stuff. LOL

Okay...when you read all the literature and view the cd/dvd...can you call me and let me know what it does and says. Because mine is still sitting in the box from almost six months ago...smiles...you will love it...Renee

Never use a flash, always opt for ntuarl lighting ner a window!
That's my best photographic tip!

How nice is it that got a Canon too, they are the best, known for their lenses. Congratulations.

Congratulations on your new camera! How exciting.
I love my cannon. Use it so much, except I have been a bit lazy recently using my iphone, very lazy, But find it hard carrying cannon and having 3 little ones with me. Advice? I was bit lazy at reading my manuals, I got my husband to read it then he gave me a tutorial That sounds so awful doesn't it! Mega lazy!
But he loves instructions!
Play around with the ISO fix on it, most important if you take it of the auto setting, Especially if you can't hold the camera still or poor lighting. I remember it by the film I used to buy, 200, 400 all those years ago.
Does that make sense? I play around/edit my photos a lot too, as take them mostly in the evenings when poor light , (when wee ones in bed).
All the best with it,
Becca xxx

No tips from me, I have to work on this issue too! I have a Casio and my "how to" booklet actually had to be downloaded from the internet (not included with camera...too big)!
Your photos look wonderful to me and that one with the bee is amazing!

Your pictures look great. The bees wings are amazing.
My sweet husband made the pictures larger. So I just resize them and they seem to turn out a little better.

Congratulation's. In my opinion the Cannon Rebel is the best camera, I have friends that owe one and love it. Santa was good to you, enjoy.
