Back Yard Color Pop {Flowering Shrubs}

Without a doubt, Spring is my most favorite season.  After enduring such a long and especially harsh winter, these amazing pops of color bursting in our yard are quite a treat!

Lots of Azaleas

And Rhododendron

Columbine too

And the first rose bloom!

It's all so intoxicating!  Surely I can figure a way to move my sewing studio outside for a couple of weeks?!

Baby Birds in the Back Yard

Wow, are we having the most beautiful Spring here in Northern Virginia!  The weather's been warm and sunny and the skies bluer than blue.  All sorts of trees and shrubs are bursting with color.  After being gone from the area for almost 20 years (and enduring the rough winter), I'm really appreciating all of the beauty.

But the best surprise of all?  This!

A nest of Robin hatchlings underneath the deck!  Sorry about the fuzzy pictures but I don't want to get too close and I zoomed in to snap them.

All day long, the momma and papa take turns, swooping in to feed the babies.

What a show!

Hope you have a tweet day!

I've Got a Fever...SPRING Fever!

Just got back from visiting my BFF in Iowa!  Boy do we have our schedules backwards ~ she needs to visit me in Florida this time of the year!  As expected, it was bone-chillin' cold and it snowed three times in five days.  Thought about buying one of these:

...Didn't though - stayed inside, cozy and warm, having a great time with Melanie.  We shopped and selected faucets, flooring, cabinets, tile and a chandelier for her master bathroom renovation ~ it's gonna be awesome!  I'll blog about it later when she sends me some pictures.

We also cleaned out and reorganized her master bedroom walkin closet.  You'll probably think I'm a wierdo, but I really loved doing this!  Almost as much as I enjoyed helping celebrate her birthday with her sweet hubby Ray:

As lovely as the snow was...

(Melanie snapped this from her front door)

...I was thrilled to feel the 82 degrees when I returned home.  E. Marshall said it best:

"Out with the cold, in with the woo!"

Must say it feels so great, this warm weather.  I know spring doesn’t technically begin until later this month, but Orlando and Mother Nature have already launched the party.  Look at the surprises Twyla and I found in the pasture this morning:

The warmer weather, blooming flowers, longer days ~ oooh, I've definitely caught spring fever.  Feverish bouts of house-cleaning, restlesness, and an urgent desire for a long overdue pedicure will likely follow.

And I'll hear Uncle Remus singing.

Zip-a-dee-doo-dah, zip-a-dee-ay
My, oh my what a wonderful day!
Plenty of sunshine heading my way
Zip-a-dee-doo-dah, zip-a-dee-ay

Mister Bluebird on my shoulder
It's the truth, it's actch'll
Ev'rything is satisfactch'll
Zip-a-dee-doo-dah, zip-a-dee-ay
Wonderful feeling, wonderful day!

I hope all of YOU have a wonderful day:)
