My bag is packed again.  I'm heading to Wisconsin with my hubby today to spend a few days with his parents.  The cool Wisconsin breezes will be a nice respite from the Florida heat!

I came across these vintage airline ads and think, wouldn't it be great if traveling were as pleasant and glamorous today as back in the 1950's and 60's?

I'd travel wearing a lovely little frock and heels and my hair would be perfectly coifed.  I'd arrive at the airport to find a short security line, and I'd board on time where the flight attendants would greet me cheerfully while handing me a fluffy clean pillow and a blanket.  I'd sink into a comfortable seat with ample room for my long legs and doze off for a little nap!  All around me would be smartly dressed people - pretty dresses and dashing suits.  And beneath the seat in front of me would be a super cute, pink carry-on case with a wristlet handle.

Oooh, how I'd love a vintage carry-on case, similar to the one in this vintage Delta ad:

I'm on a mission to find a vintage carry-on, preferably a pink, red or baby blue one like this:

Tear drop shaped or oval?  Can't decide!

Once I find one I'd like to decoupage it - wouldn't that be cool?

So off I go and maybe I'll experience something similar to this vintage Continental ad which promises, "Up in the clouds luxury."

My Bags are Packed

My bag is packed and I'm taking off to Iowa early tomorrow to spend time with dear friends for a few days.  Yay!

We ALWAYS have lots of fun together.  This is one of my favorite pictures of Melanie and me:

Many years ago we were in Vegas for a business convention when one morning we ate gigantic slices of chocolate pie for breakfast -- ha!  Our breakfast mates gave us looks of admonishment as they consumed their (boring and predictable) oatmeal and yogurt but we KNEW they were jealous!  To this day it is still one of the best breakfasts ever!

First Apron Retailer!

I've been busy the last two weeks, stitching up a second apron order for my first apron retailer -- Birmingham Produce & Market, owned by Karen McClure.

This past weekend, Paul, Twyla and I traveled to Atlanta to visit our daughter for Father's Day and since we were so close, we hand delivered the apron order.  32 aprons:

What a treat for me to visit another Retro Revival customer!  It is THE most charming country store!  The store was built in 1930 and sits on over five acres.
The shelves are stocked full of jellies and jams:

And best of all, the labels made me chuckle!  

Old fashioned (and some new-fangled) candies and organic soda are also on hand:

They "grow" their own honey and house a honey bee hive inside the Market:

Karen has 20 hives on her nearby farm.  We were intrigued by the honey bee hive; the bees travel in and out of the shop via tubing:

Of course, no authentic Produce & Market is complete without bushels of fresh fruit and veggies:

We bought a basket of peaches and they smelled so good we had to devour a couple in the car before making it back to Natalie's.  So yummy good!

We had to check out my aprons in the shop.  My "Red, White & Blueberry" creation looks adorable on the dress form!

Out back is where the hens and rooster live.  Karen has 72 hens at her 12-acre farm right down the street from the store, as well as these.  They are fed all natural feed and all the green grass and vegetables/fruit they want.  Soon the Market will offer "Easter Eggs," layed by her Americana hens; these eggs are blue and green (yolk is still yellow)!

Corn, okra, tomatoes, cucumbers, squash and all sorts of peppers are growing out back too.  Soon the Market will carry local dairy milk, local farmers' natural grass fed meats and a local bakery's fresh, all natural loaf breads!  So many goodies, I hope you'll visit soon!  The Market is located at 850 Hickory Flat Road, Milton, GA 30004.

After my apron delivery Paul and I headed back into the city.  Our fun weekend included two local bars for cocktails, live music and what else?!  A shrine to Elvis!:
