Vintage Door Knob for Organizing Lace

Like a bee to a sweet flower, I'm drawn to old door knobs when traipsing through flea markets.

I've probably picked up 500 of them over the years.  Admiring them, but never actually buying any.

Until recently.  For $1, how could I resist?

Had no idea what I was going to do with it, until I tied this lace bow on it for picture taking purposes.

Aha!  I can use it for more lace storage.

The crystal is chipped and there's some old, cruddy paint on the metal parts.  And to me, this makes it perfect!

Hope you have a perfect day!

Cool -- it would make a pretty way to store that extra binding (for those quilters out there)

When we buy our own home, I'll probably replace the boring door knobs with ones like this one!

The old door knob makes a beautiful spindle for your lace. Imagine all the things you could wind around your door knob.. Ribbon, yarn, decorative cords.

Brilliant lady, that's what you are.....in case you didn't know!
I grew up in a house with those door knobs...ahhh they bring back so many memories for me...like all those times I'd go to open a door, and the other end of the knob would fall off. I actually miss those days, and those knobs.
What a great price.
