Hope you're all bundled up and keeping warm today. Sounds like much of the country is freezing under the polar vortex.
I am seriously missing the warmth of our farm in Florida right about now! It's only going to reach 19 here today. And speaking of Florida...
I think I'm part alligator.
At least my skin is turning alligator-like in this cold weather. Jeez, I'm chapped all over! The lack of humidity and heater running just about non-stop is not helping either.
Here's a peek at some of my lotion collection. I have lots. And I'm constantly slathering it all over myself, trying to relieve the dry itch.
Recently...
I made a great discovery! Baby oil gel. Ever heard of it? Me neither, so I grabbed a couple bottles and I am happy to report this stuff is amazing. I mean it's really amazeballs!
After just a few slatherings, my skin's already been downgraded from alligator to lizard. Thinking it'll look and feel human within a few more days. Ahhh, sweet relief!
Keep warm, my friends. And well moisturized.
Hmmm, must look into that Gel stuff. I have had the most luck with Curel products.
ReplyDeleteHope y'all are warm!
Yeah, this probably hasn't been the best winter to live in DC. It helps me remember why I moved away 15 years ago. I love going back for visits but I think I'll wait for spring. Stay warm!
ReplyDeleteThank you for this hint. We have very dry winters here in Anaheim even tho it's sometimes 80 in the daytime(sorry to mention).
ReplyDeleteI understand about the dryness, it is so dry here that my cats are popping with static electricity! Poor things are constantly getting zapped and do not understand why!
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like the perfect after-shower treatment. I am going to try it.
ReplyDeleteTold my Granddaughter about your good results with the Baby oil gel. She's going to give it a try. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI hate itchy dry skin so I usually slather baby oil all over as soon as I get out of the shower! I've recently discovered the amazing healing powers of coconut oil! My office partner and I bought a big ole jar of it from Sam's club and we've been experimenting for a few months now...you can cook with it as well as wear it! lol I carry a little tub in my purse with me and use it for hand cream, face cream, lip balm...can remove make up with it and the list goes on...
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh seriously you NEED the comfrey salve from my most favorite skin care/etsy seller GloryBeHerbals. I swear by that stuff!!! Itchy, dry skin? Bye bye after one use!! You'll feel better in seconds!!
