I'm Flattered!

If this occassion was at the Kodak Theatre rather than in Blogville, I'd want to look as beautiful as...

In reality, I'm home on the farm, wearing a wrinkled linen skirt and ratty tshirt, my hair a tangled, curly mess.  So I must decide...Should I use a hairbrush or wooden spoon as a microphone while I deliver my acceptance speech?

Honestly, I began blogging kicking and screaming, thinking it would take too much time and distract me from sewing.  Encouraged by my daughter, I began a year and a half ago, and to my delight, I am LOVING it!  I've learned so much, and best of all, I've connected with an incredible group of people, YOU!

I'm incredibly flattered!  Thank you, sweet Donna, for this award.

As a recipient of the Stylish Blogger Award, I must (with pleasure for sure) pay it forward to six or seven other bloggers that I follow with glee.  Here are my choices:

Leslie at Retreaux Girl blogs about retro fashion and upcycled projects and goodies.  Her blog is right up my alley.

Yippee Vintage is by far, my MOST FAVORITE blog name!  Check out what Angela did to some old bud vases in her March 31st blog ~ very pretty!

Melanie's blog, Reasons to Skip the Housework, has a tag line that I love.  Underneath her blog title it says, "My idea of housework is to sweep the room with a Glance."  Hahahaha!

Sinta Renee at Pink Pincushion is another quilter that I love to follow.  Her blog banner includes a sweet, pink bird pincushion that reminds me of the pincushions I make:)

Into Vintage shares my love of upcycling vintage textiles and her blog posts are so funny!

ElleDee at Glammed If You Do, Glammed If you Don't deserves an award just for the NAME of her blog!  Cute, right?  She's fashion-obsessed, with a retro touch and is a redhead (like my daughter) ~ what's not to love?

And my favorite new blogger is Paula at PaulaParrish.blogspot.com (she also has a website: http://naturalgardensoaps.com/).  She's just begun blogging (pretty blog!) and I hope you'll share the love and become a follower for her.

Another requirement of the Stylish Blogger Award is for me to list seven things about myself.  Hmmm...Here's a list of things I probably wouldn't normally blog about and that you might find interesting:

1. Top on my list of places to see before I die: the Great Pyramids

2.  My family makes fun of the way I dance

2.5 I don't care about #2.  I love to dance!

3.  I was born in California.

4.  I love asparagus.  Can eat it raw, broiled, steamed, even cold out of a can.  It's OK if you just said, "Eeewwwhhh!"  It's not gonna stop me.

5.  My favorite all time movie is Princess Bride.

6.  My favorite word is fantabulous.  Used in a sentence...Receving this award isn't just an honor, it's fantabulous!

7.  Whenever I eat grapes and Mr. Wonderful's around, I'm compelled to shove two up under my top lip, contorting my face so that I look like a Dr. Seuss character.  He laughs and I try not to, then I do and the grapes shoot out of my mouth.  Yes, I'm juvenile:)
